Summer Quenchers

THOUGH THE OFFICIAL START OF SUMMER IS STILL A WEEK AWAY, here in the South it’s already hot. Time to cool down with one of these two unique, brand-new cocktails from Atlanta’s nostalgic all-day taco shop, Muchacho. Vibrant in both color and flavor, these cocktails can be easily recreated at home.

Lead Bartender, Erin Walsh created the Mary Jane to transport you to a luxurious and relaxing beach vacation, with the throwback deliciousness of melon liquor. The Stone Fox, created by Chris Ashley, Bar Manager at Muchacho, mixes the smokiness and savoriness of a summer cookout with the sweetness of summer strawberries at their peak.

Muchacho is a casual SoCal inspired Atlanta BeltLine hotspot with playful offerings and a loyal fan base. Serving coffee in the morning and margaritas at night, they just launched a new summer cocktail menu, and these two standouts have quickly become their most ordered cocktails since the new launch. Mary Jane

Created by Chris Ashley, Muchacho Bar Manager

  • 3/4 oz Tequila
  • 3/4 oz Mezcal
  • 1/2 oz Strawberry Liqueur
  • 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 oz Amaro Liqueur
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice.  Shake, strain, and serve over ice in a 12oz glass. Garnish with dried strawberry slices and fresh mint.

Stone Fox

  • 1 1/2 oz Gin
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz pineapple juice
  • 3/4 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
  • 1/4 oz Kalani Coconut Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice.   Shake, double strain, and serve over ice in a 7oz glass. Garnish with colorful seasonal flower.
