We remember this old-fashioned ice cream favorite being made with Orange Crush® soda. While it’s more difficult to find that tangy orange soda these days, we recommend using your favorite orange soda. Depending on the sweetness of your choice you may want to increase the lemon juice a bit for a more tart flavor. We love the pieces of frozen pineapple mixed in. Make a batch for the little ones but don’t forget to enjoy them yourself.
Orange Pineapple Ice Pops
Ingredients
Directions
- 3-12 oz. cans orange soda
- 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 8 oz. can crushed pineapple
- 1 tblsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
Combine all ingredients into bowl and mix well. Pour into ice cream maker and mix until slushy like a thin milkshake. This will make for a lighter popsicle. Pour mixture into prepared popsicle molds. Freeze until solid. Wrap them in wax paper and place in a plastic bag in the freezer. They would last up to two weeks…if you could stay out of them. Makes 12 ice pops.
If you have mixture left over, just return it to your ice cream maker and mix until frozen. Go ahead and enjoy while you wait for those popsicles!
