HERBACEOUS COCKTAILS

IF YOU’RE AN ASPIRING HOME BARTENDER and would like to try your hand at something special, Bar Manager Nick Ritchie from Rhubarb in Asheville, NC, offers two unique herbaceous cocktails. Both are shaken, strained, and poured into a coupe glass.

Grass in the Glass was inspired by the flavor combination of coconut, lemongrass, and vanilla. The addition of the Montenegro adds notes of vanilla while providing a mildly bitter and herbaceous component. The cocktail is rounded out with a splash of fresh lemon juice to brighten and enhance the overall flavor. It is then finished with a fresh piece of lemongrass. This cocktail also has a great mouthfeel and mild viscosity due to the fat-washing technique.

Snap To It highlights the versatility of snap peas. This cocktail also spotlights Chemist Gin, which is made locally in Asheville. It pairs well with the herbal components of the Genepy as well as the hints of anise from the atomized absinthe.
